What File Formats Do We Accept?

Vector artwork such Adobe Illustrator (.AI or .EPS), Corel Draw (.CDR) is preferred. We request that any text be converted to outlines (curves) prior to sending your file. High quality/high resolution files such as Adobe Acrobat (.PDF), .TIFF or Adobe Photoshop (.PSD) may also be acceptable. We ask that these files be sized to 100% or larger than the actual print size, and at least 600 dpi. Depending on the size and quality of the image, we may or may not be able to use images or logos saved in Microsoft Word (.DOC) or low resolution/quality files such as .JPG .PNG or .GIF

Do you keep my art on file?

Your art will be kept on file for one or more years. However it may be necessary to prepare a new print screen for your item after 1 - 2  years.

Where do I sent my artwork?

Please email you art to Info@riptidepromotions.com along with any questions you may have about our products and/or services.

Can I specifiy a PMS color for my imprint?

Yes, but please keep in mind there may be additional charges for some products. 

What is the difference between vector and raster art files?

When a raster image is scaled up, it loses quality. A raster image can be enlarged by either adding more pixels or enlarging the size of the pixels. Vector graphics are made of mathamatical calculations that form objects or lines, The do not use pixels and are therefore resolution independent. Vector graphics can be manipulated without losing image quality. Vector artwork will produce a sharper imprint with no jagged edges now matter how large or small the design is when printed on your items. 

Print Proofs

After you have submitted your custom artwork or print instructions we send a print proof for every order. Your proof will show your how your artwork will look printed on the items you have chosen. your initial proof is free of charge. Additional proofs are available if requested, an art charge may apply. 

What is a paper / digital proof?

This is a representation of how your custom design or logo will look when printed on the item(s) you have choosen.

What is a pre-production proof?

A pre-production proof is a sample of an item that is actually printed with your custom design or logo. Due to the time and cost to set up print machines, unlike standard art proofs are not included free with your order. Pre-production costs will vary by item. Please contact us for more information or for pricing for a pre-produciton proof for any item you might wish to order.
